  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped

  • 1 (14.5-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves
  • 2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 9 cooked lasagna noodles, drained
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese


  1. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium heat until the meat is browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Stir in the tomato sauce, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, sugar, salt, and basil. Simmer for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
