Hi, I’m Dana Aldridge, and I write recipes for Savory Discovery.

If you opened my fridge right now, you’d probably find leftovers in mismatched containers, a lemon that’s been there a little too long, and at least one sauce jar I refuse to throw away because “it could be useful.” That’s real-life cooking to me: a little messy, always practical, and usually delicious.

What you’ll find in my recipes

I like food that makes sense. Not complicated, not fussy, and not full of steps that feel like a chore. I’m the person who wants dinner to be comforting, dependable, and worth repeating. I care a lot about little things that help you win in the kitchen, like:

Using what you already have
Knowing what matters (and what doesn’t)
Making flavors taste bigger without extra work
Giving clear directions so you’re not guessing

Why I share what I cook

I’ve always been the kind of cook who learns by doing. I try something, I adjust it, I taste again, and I keep notes so I don’t forget what worked. At some point, those notes turned into recipes I wanted to share, because cooking feels better when it helps someone else too.

A bit about me at Savory Discovery

Savory Discovery is like a big, busy kitchen with different cooking styles happening at once, and I love that. My corner of the table is for recipes that feel friendly and realistic—meals and treats you can make without needing a perfect day or a perfect pantry.

When I’m not testing recipes, I’m usually thinking about what to cook next, saving ideas I swear I’ll try “this week,” or turning something simple into something that tastes like you tried harder than you did.

I’m glad you found your way here. I hope my recipes make your day easier and your food feel like home.
