Detailed Directions and Instructions
Step 1: Prepare the Chicken
Cut the chicken breasts into tenders. If using chicken tenders, you can skip this step.
Step 2: Season the Chicken
In a bowl, combine the blackening spice and coat the chicken tenders evenly with the spice mixture. Ensure all sides are well-seasoned.
Step 3: Heat the Skillet
Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat and add a couple of tablespoons of oil. Allow the oil to heat until it’s shimmering.
Step 4: Cook the Chicken
Carefully place the seasoned chicken tenders in the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-5 minutes on each side or until the chicken is fully cooked and has a nice blackened crust.
Step 5: Check Doneness
Ensure the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165°F (75°C).
Step 6: Remove and Rest
Once cooked, remove the tenders from the skillet and let them rest on a plate for a few minutes before serving.
Step 7: Serve
Serve the blackened chicken tenders with your choice of dipping sauce or alongside your favorite sides.
Notes
Note 1: Spice Level
Adjust the amount of blackening spice to suit your taste preference. You can make it milder or spicier based on your liking.
Note 2: Cooking Oil
Use an oil with a high smoke point for best results, such as canola oil or grapeseed oil.
Note 3: Storage
Leftover chicken tenders can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat thoroughly before serving.
Note 4: Serving Suggestions
These tenders are versatile and can be served in a salad, as a taco filling, or with a side of rice and vegetables.
