Detailed Directions and Instructions
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a donut pan by greasing it with cooking spray or oil.
Step 2: Mix Dry Ingredients
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until well combined.
Step 3: Combine Wet Ingredients
In a separate large bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, eggs, and melted butter until smooth and fully integrated.
Step 4: Add Dry Ingredients to Wet Ingredients
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 5: Fill Donut Pan
Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full to allow room for rising.
Step 6: Bake the Donuts
Bake in the preheated oven for around 12-15 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 7: Cool the Donuts
Remove the donut pan from the oven and let it cool for about 5 minutes. Then, gently remove the donuts from the pan and transfer them to a wire rack.
Step 8: Prepare Cinnamon Sugar Coating
While the donuts cool, mix granulated sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl for the coating.
Step 9: Coat the Donuts
Once the donuts are slightly cool but still warm, roll them in the cinnamon sugar mixture until thoroughly coated.
Step 10: Serve
Enjoy the donuts warm or at room temperature as a delicious treat!
Notes
Note 1: Pumpkin Purée
Make sure to use pure pumpkin purée and not pumpkin pie filling to ensure the correct flavor and texture.
Note 2: Storage
Store leftover donuts in an airtight container at room temperature for a few days, or refrigerate for longer freshness.
Note 3: Baking Time
Oven temperatures may vary, so keep an eye on the donuts towards the end of the baking time to prevent overcooking.
